Q1: Are Taiwanese nationals eligible to use Taiwan PASS?

A1: This product includes the “Taiwan High Speed Rail 3-Day Unlimited Pass”, which is only available to foreign visitors entering Taiwan for short-term stays.
※Travelers entering Taiwan with an R.O.C. (Taiwan) passport or holding a valid residence permit are not eligible for this product.

Q2: How are child tickets calculated?

A2: Children aged 6–11 must purchase a child ticket. Children under 6 years old who do not occupy a seat do not need a ticket. If a seat is required, a child ticket must be purchased. A foreign passport is required for purchase.

Q3: How do I activate the pass after purchase? Do I need a physical ticket?

A3: Taiwan PASS is an electronic ticket and does not provide physical tickets.

How to use:

3. After activation, you can access all transportation tickets in the APP (QR Code or redemption voucher).

Q4: How is the validity period of Taiwan PASS calculated?

A4: 1. The pass must be activated within 365 days after purchase.
2. After activation, all included tickets must be used within 365 days.

Q5: What is the 7-day usage period? When does it start?

A5: After activating Taiwan PASS, once you redeem or use any transportation product (such as MRT, HSR, or shuttle service), the 7-day usage period will begin (including the first day of use).

Once activated, all remaining unused transportation items must generally be redeemed and used within 7 days.

Usage scenarios:
1. After obtaining the HSR redemption code in the APP, you must redeem it at an HSR counter within 89 days starting from the day after the code is issued; otherwise, the code will expire.
2. If MRT or shuttle service is used first: the HSR 3-Day Pass and other transportation must be redeemed within 7 days.
3. If the first redeemed item is the HSR 3-Day Pass (and the redemption code has been used for online reservation)
- Other transportation (MRT, shuttle) must be redeemed within 30 days.
- Once one transportation service is used, the remaining items must still be redeemed within 7 days.

Notes:
- Once any item is redeemed, the planned travel date will be locked and the 7-day validity period will start automatically and cannot be changed.
- If a reservation is made (e.g., Alishan Forest Railway), it will not immediately activate the validity period, but the 7-day period will be calculated based on the actual travel date.

Q6: How do I use the transportation included in Taiwan PASS?

A6: Usage varies depending on the type of transportation:

1. High Speed Rail (HSR):
- A physical ticket must be redeemed upon arrival in Taiwan.
- Travelers must present the HSR redemption code in the Taiwan PASS APP along with valid entry documents (such as visa, visa-exempt entry stamp, or entry permit) at any HSR ticket counter to collect the physical ticket.

2. MRT:
- You can scan the QR Code directly to enter and exit stations, or redeem a physical card depending on the product rules.
- Usage methods vary by MRT product. For example, Taichung MRT and Kaohsiung MRT & LRT can be accessed directly via QR Code in the APP; while Taipei Metro passes and Taoyuan Airport MRT tickets require redemption at designated locations before use.

3. Shuttle services:
- Depending on the route, usage may be via QR Code or paper ticket.
- Some routes allow direct boarding with a QR Code, while others require exchanging the APP QR Code for a physical ticket or card at designated counters before use.

A7: You may choose one of the following methods:

【Online Reservation】
Use the redemption code in the APP and proceed to the HSR official website order management page to redeem and reserve seats.

【On-site Redemption】
Visit any HSR station ticket counter and present your redemption code.

*Reservations must be completed at least one day before departure (e.g., for travel on Jan 2, reservation must be completed by Jan 1, 23:59)

- You can directly use the QR Code in the APP to enter and exit stations.

A9: Depending on the route:

1. Some allow direct boarding with a QR Code.

Q10: Does the planned travel date affect the validity period?

A10: Yes. When you redeem or obtain any transportation ticket (QR Code or physical ticket):

Q13: Can the QR Code be screenshot or shared with others?

Only the QR Code displayed in real-time within the Taiwan PASS APP is valid for use.

Q14: Can the redemption code be transferred to others?

2. Already used or reserved: not transferable.

Q15: What should I do if I lose my ticket?

A15: Lost physical tickets or cards will not be reissued. Please keep them safe.
